• Impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.

• Register for multiple user accounts, using the same or different email addresses, as a way to intentionally misrepresent or deceive site administrators and/or other users of this site.

• Use the Site to post or transmit any information, software or other material that violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material that is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or rights holder.

As a Member you will:

Responsibility for what is posted on discussion forums, blogs, photo- and video-sharing pages, and other areas on the Site through which users can supply information or material, or sent via any email services that are made available via the Site, lies with each user – you alone are responsible for the material you post or send. We do not control the messages, information or files that you or others may transmit, post or otherwise provide on or through the Site.

Personal blog links in the member's signature are allowed, unless the purpose of that blog is determined to make money from advertisements and/or to siphon members from this site or to attack this site. Blog links appearing in signatures should be the default font size and color, and no larger than 2-points in font size. Constant posting of links to your blog are otherwise prohibited to reduce and prevent "spamming" on the forums.

Advertising Policy

The first mission of ClarkCountyChatter.com is the sharing of information. As such, please understand that we have a policy of NO COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING in the threads of Clark County Chatter unless you have arranged it with a site Administrator. This includes all forums and sections of ClarkCountyChatter.com, and extends to any solicitations or offers of this site's membership.

The purpose of this policy is twofold: First, to prevent a "bombardment" of unsoliticed and unstructured advertising on the members of this site. If every business did it, it would quickly become distracting. Second, paid sponsors are what keep this site available to all for FREE. There are significant expenses related to operating a social networking site, and this cost is covered by our sponsorships.

That said, as a show of good will, if you have a brand new business that is opening soon please send an PM to an Administrator and we will post the information as a public service announcement for you (if appropriate).

If you are running for an elected office and are a site member, you are welcome to post one time to introduce yourself as a candidate. Please do not cross-post your announcement in every forum. If you intend to discuss issues with site members, you may also place a link to your web site in your personal signature at no charge. Those links should be the default color, and should not be any larger than font size 2. Anything larger will be edited or removed. We will also be happy to discuss with you a dedicated, moderated topic where you may discuss your platform. Random posts with links to your site will be removed to prevent "spamming" on the forums. For additional information, please contact a site Admin.

The Clark County Chatter does not endorse any political candidate or party.

No illicit advertising of any form (such as ads for adult services) is allowed or accepted on this site. Ads for liquor stores and smoke shops are accepted, as long as they are tastefully done.

Personal blog links in the member's signature are allowed, unless the purpose of that blog is determined to make money from advertisements and/or to siphon members from this site. Blog links appearing in signatures should be the default font size and color, and no larger than 2-points in font size. Constant posting of links to your blog are otherwise prohibited to reduce and prevent "spamming" on the forums.

CCC Marketplace
If you are looking for some side work (e.g. you do lawn or computer work on the side), you may post that for free in the Chatter's "Marketplace" forum unless your side work conflicts with the business of a Chatter sponsor. For instance, if we have a computer repair service as a sponsor, you may not post that you fix computers on the side. If you are not sure if you are in compliance about advertising, please send a PM (private message) or email to a site Administrator.

If you clean chimneys, knit sweaters, weave baskets, or shovel poop on the side, you are not allowed to start a thread concerning your business on another area of the site outside the Marketplace. HOWEVER, if someone specifically asks in a thread for a reference of someone to sew a quilt, for example, you are more than welcome to post a response and say "hey I quilt" and provide your information. Once you have shared your information, all conversation should take place via the PM function.

Concerning the Marketplace, people may post SPECIFIC ITEMS they wish to sell/trade/donate - PROVIDED that they are not a business. They may also announce personal or community yard sales, personal real estate for sale or rent, and items they are seeking.

Local Reviews
Members who wish to post about a business are encouraged to do so. If you received good or bad service from someone, feel free to post in the "Local Reviews" section. Business owners are welcome to post a responses to these posts. If you work for a place and wish to respond, feel free. However, if what you post is deemed to be an advertisment, it will be removed. For example posting "Thank you for your review" is acceptable. Posting "We now have burgers on the menu, and here is a PDF menu..." is not.

Community Service & Events
If a site member is seeking donations for a special cause (runs, walks, church/school groups, etc.), you may post it in the Community Service/Events forum or place a link to your donation page in your signature. Those links should be the default color, and should not be any larger than font size 2. Anything larger will be edited or removed. If you are organizing an event that will benefit a specific cause in the community, it may also be posted in the Community Service/Events forum .

Please refer to the posted guidelines for each of these forums for more details.

Please remember: If you need some work done or need a specific service, please check with one of our sponsors! They have advertised on this site because they desire your business!

By submitting a comment or posting in our forums you explicitly accept all the functionality, all the reserved rights and the general policy which is expressed in this document.

Trolling, Cyber Bullying and Personal Attacks:

This forum was built on the principal that each and every member is treated in a polite and respectful manner. We are extremely proud of this and feel this is one of the things that differentiates The Clark County Chatter from many other online communities.

As a community, it is our responsibility to welcome new members and help them adjust to this kind of communication. Not everyone is experienced in forum etiquette so let’s help new members become comfortable with The Chatter by keeping an open mind and being kind and helpful.

Unfortunately there are some people that have an agenda to disrupt internet communities by trolling, cyber bullying and or making personal attacks against other members. We now have a zero tolerance policy toward individuals who come into the forums and behave this way. If you witness this kind of behavior and or you feel its directed at you, remember you are not obligated to respond, but if you do, you are obligated to think before you speak.

If you troll, bait, or attack people… we have a button with your name on it. If you feel like you're a victim of this behavior, we also have a special button for you. It's the “Report” link at the bottom of every post. Click that link and explain your concern and we’ll review it and take action if we need to. We have a group of mods with tons of experience that will respond in a fair way.

You folks make the Clark County Chatter the best online community in this region… heck probably in the entire world… thank you for helping us keep it clean.

Thank you!
