Who is Gary Johnson? Fun interview with Samantha Bee. First I'd heard of the Jaguar thing. NSFW.

Is he off the weed?  Saw somewhere where he is "suspending" his weed smoking.  Just what we need.  Maybe he and Obama can do a little "blow" together lol

I love it. I think it's a breath of fresh air from the negativity heaped upon us by the two old parties. Like Dr. Ron Paul said, "If you're not having fun then you're not doing it right."

He is a 2016 presidential candidate running for the Libertarian Party. Some of you may be willing to vote for him because he is not Trump or Clinton, but here is some more information about him. He spent 8 years as the Governor of New Mexico. He is fiscally conservative, and socially liberal.

Fiscally for:

Reducing subsidies

Reducing defense spending

Balancing the budget to decrease government debt

Eliminating the double taxation created by taxing both corporations and employees income tax

Eliminating federal income tax and replacing it with a 23% sales tax, so money isn't taxed before you used it

Pro FairTax

Eliminating free trade barriers created by lobbies

Socially for:

Separation of church and state

Gay Marriage

Legalization of prostitution to make its safer

Legalization of marijuana to reduce crime rates, violence, and government spending on prisoners

Pro Choice

Education reform (leaving education to the states)

State run environmental cleanup programs

Pro Gun

Removing Obamacare

Opening the border to increase the taxes paid by immigrants

Raising retirement age to 70 to reduce government costs

The answer to that is in the video.

He's pledged not to consume as president.

Until we make candidate's occassional use of alcohol an issue, I can't see why this should be one. He recently stepped down as CEO of a legal cannabis company. It's legal in many places and all relevant data show alcohol is much more problematic.

I don't see marijuana use as a deal breaker, but its use is illegal under federal law. Alcohol consumption is not illegal.

My research finds the same... which agrees with my real life experiences on the subject...

I'd have to look around for the specifics, but I seem to recall in the last year either Congress or Obama did something - or failed to do something - such that it, at minimum, eliminated the threat of federal enforcement in legalizing states. It was a relatively quiet thing, maybe happened during a busy news cycle...would have to check.

We may need to confirm for the sake of science. Please provide video of drunk Q and stoned Q for us to compare and contrast.

Fortunately for me... most of this activity took place before everyone had a smartphone on their hip...  :D

Well, part of the scientific method is being able to duplicate results. There is nothing that says the second experiment can't be captured with smartphones.

There was an old toper called “Q”

who often drank more than a few.

When Kelley got on his case,

he tried to save face

by guzzling his brew on pay-per-view

Johnson will likely have a fun interview tonight too as he joins Colbert on The Late Show on CBS at 11:35p.

No. They recorded it earlier in the day. Then did some weird editing. I know, for example, there was discussion about immigration that didn't make it on the air.

I was so excited when Colbert first went to network since we'd given up cable, but I quickly quit tuning in. There always seemed like something was off or missing. Was that way last night too. Was hard to watch all the way through. That Gayle segment...then the offness of the Johnson/Weld interview.

I've seen Johnson and Colbert together before, and they were great. CBS seems to have killed a little of Stephen's soul or something.
