Seems to have gone away quietly...

Website and social media all seem to be gone...

Anyone have the scoop on what the plan is? Are the Big 4 peeps going to regroup and try something else in this location?

In all honesty, being a block from the ISP Post gives that location a big handicap.  That scares off a lot of people as the location has been primarily used as a bar rather than restaurant.  Some people cannot drink responsibly and others think they will get arrested for drinking one beer.  I imagine that keeps people away as there have been several well-run businesses there that failed.

I was never into this restaurant.  It has this weird MargaritaVille feel with the most expensive beers in New Albany.  It has a terrible atmosphere.

I tried to like it... however every time I was there something seemed to go wrong...

I thought it was poor management...

This is a quote from the former owner Matt (owner of Big 4)'s Facebook page on Tuesday:

"I never like to tell my business until it's 100% a done deal and papers are signed so now I would like to tell everyone I sold Charlie Nobles in Sellersburg. The new group of guys are going to make it a sports bar. I wish them the best of luck."

He closed it in December.

I too tried it a couple of times and it was always ok...it was mostly bad service that did it in for me.

The new name is up.

The 812 lounge or something like that.

The place has never looked appealing to me for whatever reason, I never tried it before.

I worry about the police that seem to dislike bars in this area.

Good luck to the new business owners.

Not sure it's a matter of disliking bars.  This place is on the same road and about a block away from the state police post.  troopers and Sellersburg officers are constantly driving by there as they enter and leave the post.

I was pretty excited about this until I drove by and saw that the night the Hoosiers were playing DJ Stingy was going to be playing music.  Why in the world would a sports bar have a dj? Figure out what you are. Be a dance club or be a sports bar. As great as a real sports bar would be in Sellersburg, I'm not dealing with everything that a dance club brings and will take my business elsewhere.

I got no problem with cops patrolling an area near a bar.  Don't like it, don't want to get in trouble, don't go drinking and driving.
