Very Vague talk voter

Give us specific issues with lack of accountability .

We could name ALL accomplishments?  Of course that would take a while.

The lack of over site you speak of, do you have dates? Issue??

Perhaps you could look at some of the recent past State Board of Accounts audits that refer to 'malfeasance', 'misfeasance', 'lack of oversight', 'lack of control', 'failure', etc?

Better add Oversight to the Town Manager Position.

Sounds like some people  don't want the job.

Just remember elected officials can not delegate authority or responsibility.

Here's one accomplishment... Stonecipher came to the Sellersburg town council meeting tonight to introduce himself to us and open dialogue between us and his district.

Good for him.  That is a plus.

Also I give credit to Mr. Fetter who did not take

Ms. Voignier's recommendation to make the School

Resource officer the assistant Police chief.

I will give credit to both.

Would a person with only 9 months of work experience qualify?

Not if that is all that's on your resume.

I would recommend you don't apply. I think it will require more than that to make the first cut.

What kind of work experience you talking about? Experience as a town manager? Experience in some other field?

Ahhh, sorry, Sleepy, this thread is about the town manager position. Why do you throw out an abstract question (is 9 months experience enough) and expect people to automatically know you're NOT talking about the town manager position?

Please stick to the topic...and try to explain what you are talking about!

Feel free to start a new thread to complain about the new RD director if there isn't one started already.

Oooooooohhhhhhhhh...... This was the Town Manager thread.

RD director. He was a Gang of 4 hire and the new board must think he is great to promote him.

They can always fire him if he doesn't do a great job. Other boards have fired directors that don't do what is expected, they can too.

Maybe you can add him to the accomplishment list you are working on.

Voter in my Opinion the Town Manager and RD jobs are big ones.

I will not be counting the hiring of a person with a 9 month work history

in a related field as an accomplishment. Would you be happy if they also

hire a person with 9 months of work history as Town Manager?

You always talk about how important education is.

Well he has lots of it and in a field that is good for the position .

Education and experience are big on my list.

I would not agree that  a degree means you have lots

of education.

Glad this young man has the education for sure.

I believe had the job been posted and others interviewed

The town may have found people with both.

I am also an advocate for hiring the very best people possible.

Sounds like a good kid, I wish him the best.

I just thought this new group was going to be different.  I think most people

would agree posting jobs and interviewing qualified candidates is the way to go.

Filling jobs without interviewing doesn't guarantee the best.

I would bet any good Town Manager will post jobs and interview, not just fill jobs

of importance.  One plus I see for a town manager.

For the last time, if you want to continue to discuss/complain about the new RD director, start a thread. Do not mention that position on this thread again!

I heard that Rob Waiz is interested in the position and was being considered.

Has anyone else heard this?

Yet that is exactly what your good ol' boys town councils did for as long as most people can remember.  You weren't bitc*ing about their actions then...why now?

I have been authorized by the highest authority (that shadowy figure in the trench coat that I meet out behind the town hall well after midnight) to tell you that this rumor is laughable.  What was the person smoking that told you this?

He said that Waiz and Fetter has been talking.
