I'm no fan of any religion but I thought that this needs to be posted.

Along this same line, I remember one shooter asking his victims if they were Christians or believed in God. If they responded 'Yes' he shot them point blank.
I do not recall if the story went on to say how many had enough faith to continue to say 'Yes' even though it meant their immediate execution.
I pray that were I in that same situation,God and my faith would give me the strength to shout a resounding "YES!"
Any one else feel the same...or perhaps you are not comfortable stating it on this forum. I understand.

I too feel the same. I pray that I would be able to sound off with a loud YES.

Oh yes, jiyabird...this earth is not my home. We've been told in scripture that there may come a time that we must take a stand for our God. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control

Well, I really didn't expect this to happen.
(although i probably should have)

YOU PEOPLE take a post of acceptance, compassion
and humanity and turn it to a platform for your myopic,
self-righteous, religious claptrap.

So, in the spirit of this instance, I sincerely wish you all the best.
May you find your hoped for martyrdom as soon as and as
painfully as possible.

Happy F'N New Year.

Well Riverfox, since you opened the door to this with you personal attack on our beliefs, let me simply state that I sincerely hope that you are able to overcome your own narcissism and god complex in sufficient time to accept that there are things greater than yourself and place your Faith in OUR Living God. (yes, He is your God too)

Unnecessary and very mean and cruel post. No reason to come at people

I believe the original post was supposed to be a story about unity and caring for your fellow man, not one of religious persecution. The main gist of the article was Muslims protecting Christians from other Muslims. Now, the article does talk about the possibility of ulterior motives, but the point remains, we need more stories like the one above. Stories like these just further my belief that Muslims aren't evil, Islam is. I don't care who, what, when, why, or how you worship. I do care when you try to force your beliefs on me or someone else. Any Muslim that is willing to stand with me and defend my right is a friend. Any person that is willing to violate my rights at the end of a sword or the barrel of a gun is an enemy. How would your preconceptions change if all of the peaceful adherents of Islam stood up against the violent ones? So, yeah, we need more stories like the one above.

Never thought you were capable of sinking low enough to make cruel comments such as these. Shame on you.
You certainly do not wish us 'the best' and the "martyrdom as soon as and as painfully as possible" was completely uncalled for.
You must be a miserable, hatefilled, hopeless person and I feel nothing but sorrow for you.
May God forgive and bless you, you may pray for it one day.
