Another asset to the Clarksville community

got walking papers.

That now makes 3 and counting.

ALSO:

Please tell me the new council is not going to put in

a building commissioner (iipo's job)  who has ZERO  I say Zero

HVAC experience or certification? Would that be a smart move?

But when your buddy needs a job.

Oh, no, Sleepy won't name names. Sleepy's only ever been good for rumor and innuendo, and not even much good for that.

He/she says that makes three and counting, but this is the only place I've seen anything about anything and even that anything hasn't amounted to anything.

Same here. Nothing official just rumors. I have been waiting for sleepy's retraction after stating that the fire chief never worked with Fisher while on council. Has yet to happen.

Mr. Gray

If the fire chief did work with Mr. Fisher 4-8 years ago

would it be fair for Mr. Fisher to evaluate him on that?

Your statement is ridiculous.

Are you trying to say in 4-8 years no job growth, training, leadership

experience, budget experience has taken place?

Again,  evaluate a person fairly and make any decision you see necessary.

A very Good Town Attorney.

Who?

What is your evaluation criteria?

What qualifies you to make that judgement?

Again,  evaluate a person fairly and make any decision you see necessary.

I agree.

I trust our incoming council to do just that.

I trust that they will make changes where necessary, regardless of how much you and others p*ss and moan.  I trust that they will leave things unchanged where necessary, regardless of how much you and others p*ss and moan.

Sleepy, it appears that the pain you feel over the results of the recent election is clouding your objectivity.  With every rumor, it seems you have criticized our incoming council at every opportunity.  The voters evidently were tired of the past, and elected a different party majority to govern our town.  I think we need to let them govern the way they see fit, and evaluate them based on results of their actions instead of criticizing based on every rumor.  I hope you find acceptance and peace.

Sleepy, in your post that you deleted, you attacked GrumpyGranny about not doing anything for us lately. Who is US? You have stated on chatter that you live in Chicago and your interest in Clarksville is because you have family here. Is us outside interests like yourself? Is us the candidates that the voters soundly said no to?

Being from and living in Chicago, I don't think you know how big the statement for change the voters made is.

Do you think the voters are happy with every political appointment the ousted political party made?

Do you think any of them were "friends that needed a job" like you think the new appointments will be?

Do you think the only "assets to the Clarksville community" are the ones already chosen by the out going council?

New council members may not make the perfect decision every time, but they live here and were voted for by the people that actually live here.

My only intent with my statement was for you to correct yourself on a previous incorrect post you made about Fisher and Upton never serving together.  Apparently you are not going to do that so that speaks for itself.  As far as the garbage you have posted here and other threads, well it speaks for itself too.

Clarksville Voter

The message the Repub Party used doing the election

is much different then the actions they display.

Remember when they said ooh the Dems will get rid of the Police Chief

When this was proven a false statement, they said on and on

that all department heads are doing a great job.

Now the actions are much different then the words.

Again, I will challenge everyone, democrat or republican to tell me when an administration change (regardless of whether it is "cross party" or not) at any level doesn't bring a change in senior leadership. And yes, the new administration will appoint those friendly/loyal to them because they will be held accountable for the performances of those departments at the next election.

I am sure most were pleased at the performances of many of Governor Daniels' agencies, but in the change from him to Goevrnor Pence, personnel were changed. Let's keep in mind that those changes occurred in a transition that was republican to republican with the outgoing governor having an almost 70% approval rating. It only makes sense that a town council change from democrat to republican with a high degree of disapproval will bring changes to agency heads.

To the victor(s) go the spoils...

Change is fine....

Telling people "they are doing a good job and will be fine"

and then demoting them is not fine.

Again, you can be doing a good job, but new leadership has the right to want people who will be loyal to executing their plans.

them later.

Better to say nothing make no promises and Change away.

JeffResident, there's really only 1 "McSleepy" who is moaning about change in department heads...you'll see a theme here if you read more of the threads in the Clarksville forum. I also don't clearly remember hearing that all department heads were safe...I do clearly remember hearing how well of a job the Police Chief and the Street Department Commissioner were doing.

I think it should be rightfully assumed that whenever you accept a position (department head) that's voted on by a group of individuals, that themselves are elected by the people (town council), you accept the fact that there may be a time or term limit on that position. If "job security" is high on your list, it may be in your best interest to look for employment in an arena that isn't controlled by political influence.

Thanks Brandon, sometimes when I have seen people in the past complain about these things here it's turned out to be people related to the person or the person themselves, nevermind they were awarded said position under dubious circumstances to begin with ...
