I get ever so pissy on this one.  The voters have stated, time and again, that we do not want John Perkins, in any capacity.  Yet, the Dems (my party - YIKES!) keep trotting him out in this, that or the other role.  He's like Mitch McConnell Jr.  Knows his parliamentary procedures, but is impervious to the constituents desires.  He really doesn't care what you or I want, think, or voted for.

Tom Galligan and the Dems need to STOP "appointing" him to ANY position!

Well, tonight's article really makes Perkins look like an idiot --- and a biased idiot to boot.

"Webb was not initially declared the winner when the three recount commissioners emerged from a long recess behind closed doors at the end of the day.   The totals they read placed Webb last of the three, making Rodriquez the winner.  Attorney Larry Wilder, representing Webb......asked the commission to read their tallies individually by precinct for each candidate so they could add the totals themselves.  When they did so, Webb's totals increased by 100 votes and Ellis' and Rodriquez' stayed the same.  Perkins said the mistake was simply clerical.  "When we called off one of the precincts, we must have called off...39, (when) it should have been 139," he said. "That's why it ended up off 100 votes in that race."

Perhaps we should hire people who can actually count to conduct the recount.   And people who are NOT biased.    The only way a recount can be valid, in my opinion, is if it is conducted by people who are totally independent ---- and know how to count.    What a fiasco.

p.s. to Rodriquez --- if you want any shot at winning -- and winning fairly,  I suggest you demand Perkins be removed from the process.   If he remains, the results will be tainted -- no matter what they are!  jmo

Please, please my Democratic friends, do not ever keep John Perkins out of sight.  He is a moron and the GOP thanks him for being himself.  A partisan hack and a person who doesn't have a clue.  Sheriff Noel sums it up pretty well in the News and Tribune  "John Perkins is the most unprofessional person I've seen in a hearing of this type"  That's code for your an idiot.

Josh Rodriquez is an honest, hard working individual and active within the downtown area.

Please do not let these Perkin shenanigans taint that.

I agree Donna. But unfortunately, the Perkins shenanigans WiLL taint any outcome. As an honest, hardworking individual -- Josh would be wise to distance himself from Perkins and insist Galligan find someone more reputable to replace Perkins.

It's not over just yet. A Republican majority on the commission, so an obvious advantage to to the Republicans. Nothing against Steve Webb, who has done a great job on the council, but Josh still has his day in court for Appeals.

So sorry to read that Josh Rodriquez wasn't elected. I was on a board with him and thought he made outstanding contributions. I wouldn't know Steve Webb from a tree stump.

It's Owen, Samuel and Webb on the council at-large.  Move on folks and please keep John Perkins in the public eye.  Heck, make him county chairman.  He would do a great job, hehe

Breakfast Club Recount Fun:
   "Three to be elected".
Monday morning back to Clark Circuit Court and then possible appeals?

It now doth appear
that there is a pesky legal question,
which was previously discussed in court,
as to IF the recount for the Jeffersonville City Council At-Large 2015 contest
should have included the totals for ALL SIX candidates for ALL THREE of the contested slots.

"Was it essential, necessary, and possibly a legal requirement to recount ALL of the votes that were cast in that particular race?"

  :D :D :D
