Well, tonight's article really makes Perkins look like an idiot --- and a biased idiot to boot.
"Webb was not initially declared the winner when the three recount commissioners emerged from a long recess behind closed doors at the end of the day. The totals they read placed Webb last of the three, making Rodriquez the winner. Attorney Larry Wilder, representing Webb......asked the commission to read their tallies individually by precinct for each candidate so they could add the totals themselves. When they did so, Webb's totals increased by 100 votes and Ellis' and Rodriquez' stayed the same. Perkins said the mistake was simply clerical. "When we called off one of the precincts, we must have called off...39, (when) it should have been 139," he said. "That's why it ended up off 100 votes in that race."
Perhaps we should hire people who can actually count to conduct the recount. And people who are NOT biased. The only way a recount can be valid, in my opinion, is if it is conducted by people who are totally independent ---- and know how to count. What a fiasco.
p.s. to Rodriquez --- if you want any shot at winning -- and winning fairly, I suggest you demand Perkins be removed from the process. If he remains, the results will be tainted -- no matter what they are! jmo
