Hoosiers in line for one of seven bowls?
Assessing Indiana's bowl possibilities
November 30, 2015
Indiana is wasting little time moving fans forward on bowl plans,
even though the Hoosiers' final destination
has yet to be determined.
An email distributed Monday encouraging fans
to purchase bowl game tickets listed seven "most likely" destinations:
Holiday Bowl (San Diego)
Music City Bowl (Nashville, Tenn.)
TaxSlayer Bowl (Jacksonville, Fla.)
Pinstripe Bowl (New York)
Foster Farms Bowl (Santa Clara, Calif.)
Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit)
Armed Forces Bowl (Fort Worth, Texas)
Bowl selections will be announced Sunday, Dec. 6.
Priority tickets must be ordered by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7,
according to the release.
Two things to note ...
>> As we discussed yesterday, the Music City Bowl and TaxSlayer Bowl split bids between the Big Ten and the ACC, so only one of those bowls is realistic. The TaxSlayer Bowl took Iowa last year.
>> Given the Big Ten's pecking order, the Holiday Bowl is probably a rung above where Indiana will land, and the Quick Lane and Armed Forces Bowls probably a rung below where Indiana will land.
Looking at Monday's updated bowl projections, the Pinstripe Bowl is gaining momentum as a destination. That will be on Dec. 26 against an ACC opponent. Here's a look where the Hoosiers land in this week's bowl forecast:
ESPN: Pinstripe Bowl vs. Pitt (Both Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy pick)
SBNation: Pinstripe Bowl vs. Louisville
