Interesting thoughts about how New York may be impacting federal law on gun bans and gun confiscation...

On Monday, the Court of Appeals for the Second U.S. Circuit issued a long awaited decision on the constitutionality of the most drastic gun control law in U.S. history, the New York SAFE Act of 2013.  The Second Circuit ruled that nearly all of the law does not violate the Second Amendment.

The SAFE ("Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement") Act was presented to the New York State Senate and passed into law in 15 minutes.  No debate was allowed, and senators did not have time to read the bill before voting it into law.

The SAFE Act is a complete ban on the sale or transfer of all military-style semi-automatic rifles manufactured within the past several decades.  It is a total ban on the AR-15, AK-47, M-14/M-1a, HK G3, Steyr AUG, and many other civilian copies of military firearms.

Great news!

How can you say that? Have you not seen what has happened in Australia? The bad guys are running rampant in the streets. The government has enslaved everybody. It's a living nightmare over there.

I know you are being a tad sarcastic, but unfortunately you are correct.

The common man can no longer defend himself, and only criminals have guns.

And they're no worse off than we are.

My God, this terrifies me and makes me sick to my stomach. I am a woman living alone. If all that stands between me and the thugs outside my door is an alarm system I might as well post a sign outside the door saying "Welcome you low lifes...I can't stop you!" That GD Obama..he has succeeded in doing exactly what he planned to do. The sound of jackboots on the streets are becoming a reality more every day.

I really don't think I will have a problem with that. No one belongs in my house but me.

PNG,

Do you believe that citizens should have the right to own firearms?

Just wondering.....

Seems like a LOT of these "good guys" with guns, are committing quite a few egregious acts.  Shooting at shoplifters in a parking lot, deputy sheriff leaving unlocked, loaded hand gun for his baby girl to shoot herself, road rage with weapon close at hand and a little 4 year old girl is dead, six year old playing cops & robbers with his little brother, and, hey, there's a loaded, unlocked gun in full view.  Baby brother is no more.  There MUST be a better way!

You tell me. This lady is a citizen. Should she have a gun?

Okay...

Let me rephrase.

PNG,

Do you believe that any citizens should have the right to own firearms?

No that wasn't the question. The question was should she? I say no.

Well, first, she's not violent. My guess is that she's wanting to go to jail. She obviously wants them to call the police. Second, I saw at least 5 other people who, if armed, would be able to take her out if she became violent. The question isn't whether or not she should be armed, people intent on doing harm and breaking the law do not care about gun laws, the question is whether or not the rest of the people in the store have a right to defend themselves against her.

Another question....

Who gets to decide which citizens are allowed to have guns?

The other day I made a post showing how our Vice President gave out wrong, and illegal advice on what to do if your home is broken into.

If we cant trust the number two man, who can we trust?
