The guy in this article has fought for positive change for years and that moment is upon us.

http://www.newsandtribune.com/news/johnny-on-the-spot-clarksville-resident-stands-up-for-the/article_22e41f6e-67c2-11e5-ae14-ff9a691c7895.html

David Fisher, Kelly Conn, Charlie King, John Gilkey and the cast of Democratic candidates have been around for years and NOTHING is new about them.

On the other hand, the Republicans represent what we've needed for years with fresh faces, fresh ideas and competency that hasn't been seen for some time.   A.D. Stonecipher is just one such example: http://electstoney.org/electstoney.htm

Please join me in voting for this new team of Republicans and a great future for Clarksville.

I have went on record for Johnson and McEwen

Both fit you criteria as new to Clarksville

And they have great community backgrounds.

I agree with new blood, I guess just different party.

Hope everyone votes.   Just vote...Your Choice.

Sleepy ask yourself these questions and then do your homework.

Will Johnson and McEwen retain the best police chief we've had in years and  possibly ever?  Not my words but the words of one commissioner or words to that  effect.  A police chief that judges and other police departments now look forward to working with.  A police chief whose vision and implementation of warnings of bad weather and other innovations is beyond reproach.  The word all around town is they will not.

What about the Parks Department, Street Department and Wastewater Departments all  run by true professionals.

Ah but doing your homework.  Tsk tsk.

If you do you will find Johnnny Boy received a lucrative consulting contract in Kansas for an RFP on Medicaid which required him to be there 5 days a week and sometimes weekends as well.  With integrity he realized he couldn't serve our citizens properly and resigned for someone who could.  Incidentally you'll find Jerry Voignier did an admiral job in a losing cause as his replacement - - if you do your homework.

Better is not inferior.

I can speak for McEwen I spoke to him

He spoke to Palmer face to face.  So do your homework and ask Palmer if mcewen supports him.

Ask park employees if mcewen supports them.  Again No brainer.

Street Department, ask away I believe McEwen s brothers are involved with coaching

I think the head guy can answer about mcewen.

My Man tomD knows who I support.

If you are saying anything different about mcewen you are not telling the truth.

As for Johnson  he has my support as well   Seems very honest.

Vote for who you wish Just don't tell tale tales.

Everyone go out and vote for your candidate.

I have a few other questions I would like to ask johnnny boy?

Did you really go there?  Okay, since you brought it up...I have heard from more than one source that your guy got his degree, went to work at his career, and then quit after only one day.  What do you know about this story?

I found out I was wrong about Mr. McEwens position on Mark Palmer.  Mr. McEwen you have my sincere apologies.

It’s also good to hear he supports the other departments.  Again though what are his/your positions on district/fair voting and a town manager?  Is he for both of them up front without a costly repetitive survey and committee studies?

I’m troubled though when you say you support Johnson when he’s against the best police chief in the area and possible the best Clarksville has ever had but that’s your choice and I again support Tim Hauber for the excellent job he’s executed.  Then to Mr. Johnson represents the old thinking on town wide voting and not having a town manager.  Is that what you want?

Well everyone has their opinion.  I have one about Mr. Hauber that differs from you.

Lets all vote and it will come out in the wash.

I can speak for Johnnny Boy I saw his picture in the paper.

It wants to know if the candidates are ok with secret meetings or just their spokespeople?

Sounds a little Old Democrat.

It also wants to know how you will justify to TomD your quitter?

Is a quitter only a quitter if hes not your quitter?

Those were the only questions it was willing to answer without a town wide poll. It could not take strong stands on its own.

Hmmmmmmm

Funny the Principal of the school involved would not

use that term.   If you leave for a more lucrative job is it ok

OHHH my bad that was Honest John.

The info I heard McEwen was about 7-10 years into his

Y career when he was approached by 2 principals to take

a PE job, he spoke to head principal and said he wasn't sure

Ended up taking the job, did the first teacher days

Then worked a week and told principal on Friday it was not for him

He made more at the Y and really liked it. He and principal shook hands

and he went back to Y..The reason principal was OK  The newly hired Jeff b ball

coaches wife needed a job.   So she got the PE job and everyone was happy.

This is story I got.  Feel free to go to the source.

BUT since we are talking about jobs.

Can you explain the honest guy quitting his job at a local convenient store???

Enquiring minds want to know.

GO VOTE  GO VOTE everyone go vote for your guy or gal..

Town Manager vs Town Mayor

The people of Clarksville did not want a Mayor

this we know.

Town Manager will make more then 2 local Mayors (based on a website of current candidate)

If this is true I am not sure if the people want this or not.

Many differences to Mayor and Town Manager I agree.  Direct cost for position will be an issue with

voters I believe.

We can't have a Mayor. Towns are not allowed to have one per State law. We do, however, have a Town Executive already. That person is the President of the Council.

The vote was to become a city vs Town

The people didn't want city for a number of reasons

Im sure reasons were as diverse as those voting.

One reason was didn't want a mayor...

I was merely pointing out that we couldn't have a Mayor under our current form of government even if we wanted one. You are correct, we would have to become a city, something I oppose at this present time, in order to make that happen.

You also said,"Town Manager will make more then 2 local Mayors (based on a website of current candidate)

If this is true I am not sure if the people want this or not." I was also merely pointing out that we already have a Town Executive.

The people voted No to Mayor

Is your opinion they want town Manager

at a Higher salary then a mayor would cost?

Question:

1.) Of the candidates

whom are running for the Clarksville Town Council,

whom would make the best person to serve as the Town Executive?

The town council members will select one of their members to execute the "Town Executive" functions.

Supplemental questions:

2.) Heard any names

bantered

by the current candidates?,

3.) What does it pay

extra for the

responsibilities?
