A certain current "perennial candidate" needs to fully READ the EXLOSIVE
Indiana State Board of Accounts audit of the landfill

before he continues to defend the status quo

situation of the landfill.

He might be a little sharper.

Giving the facts, is not defending the landfill.
If the commissioners can fully explain that it's best for the taxpayers to sell. I'm in!

Dern Pesky Details Report

The vaunted, oft-quoted breakfast discussions have revealed

that in addition to some wise Republican leaders,

one major Clark County Democrat shaker and mover,

who has a strong record of accomplishments,

may be joining the discussion

and recommending

that an intelligent analysis

of the best way to proceed to solve the landfill mess should be undertaken!

This former office holder, who has accomplished quite a great deal

may be joining WITH the Republican leadership

to analyze the economic benefits that can

be obtained from the operation

of the landfill, the recycling revision, and the landfill gas.

The former Democrat office holder and still current leader has accomplished

far more than the "perennial political candidate"

and understands the bad situation

can be corrected with

the proper action.

Remember

that selling the landfill is just one potential aspect of improvement.

Focusing upon a complete new economic analysis,

not 'shrilling attacking citizens'

who suggest ways out of the mess

  ......is a much better path.

The Indiana SBOA audit may be painful for some  office holders

and a politician may attempt to defend it,

but it is pretty bad.

"An office holder trying so hard to become  the current public face

of the audit and defending the past practices and actions

is troubling."

:poke:

The questions must be asked, the audit not hidden or covered up.

Change Analysis

Conducting a careful economic analysis of  potential improvements

examining possible sales,

exploring

possible public-private partnerships, etc.,

not promoting demeaning obfuscation,

is much more beneficial

to the taxpayers.

The methane gas collection system was fully financed by Hoosier Energy (i.e., no capital outlay by the County).  The captured gas is sold on the open market and the funds are used to pay down the HE loan.  It will be several years before this debt is fully satisfied.  In addition, an extension of the collection system will need to be constructed within the footprint of the current improvements before the vertical deposit of municipal solid waste commences.

Curmudgeon is a very
intelligent person with a lot of knowledge and ability.
It might be wise to include him on the committee if it is created.

Idea!

Maybe Steve Voelker should also be added to the proposed analysis committee!

He is an informed and intelligent person. Both he and Curmudgeon

along with some sharp businesspersons

who have run a company would be a nice blend.

That would add a good viewpoint to the possible changes!
