Just the other night, CPD only had 5 officers on-duty for the entire town, including Plum Creek/Hunter Station area ("North Clarksville).  Its nearly impossible to respond to all the calls and cover the entire town with only 5. Just two calls could tie up 4 officers (two on each call, if the call has the potential to be violent) leaving only 1 officer remaining to cover the rest of the town.

First, sorry that your daughter experienced that. Second, I'm super glad that she is okay. Third, these are the type of crimes that I believe our police force should be dedicated to preventing/solving. Why aren't they patrolling that area? Do we need more officers or do we need to shift the focus of our force? I would definitely be interested in hosting a forum, after the election of course, to discuss this very thing with the people who live there.

Can't hire more police officers when the majority of the budget is tied up in TIF.

Can't hire more fire fighters when the majority of the budget is tied up in TIF.

Looks like they caught the "kid" responsible for this:

15-year-old suspected in four southern Indiana armed robberies

Does anyone know the color or make of the car, that was stolen, when he robbed the store in Sellersburg. I saw something strange yesterday at the Green Tree Mall.

Ladybelle, according to the WDRB article, the car was found. The police got a description, saw the car and pursued it before the arrest.

Nah, won't happen. Punk's 15, a kid. If he gets any time at all, it'll be in the juvenile detention center. He'll be back on the street at 18, preying on people and doing even worse than he has done thus far. Sounds like he was getting worse as it was, going from a "simple" armed robbery to criminal confinement and auto theft in addition to armed robbery. And his idea of a joke? Putting the gun to a woman's head and pulling the trigger...

I'm sure they can figure out a way to try him as an adult.

It would be nice if we could free some dope smokers to make room for people like him. Maybe then he wouldn't get off so easy.

Unless he stole Doritos, my money says weed didn't drive him to it.

What drugs were found in his stash when he was arrested?

True!

But seriously, I don't know, I'm just throwing out a possibility.

Easy solution. Make weed cheap. How many people go on crime sprees to feed their nicotine addiction?

Oh, it happens, rest assured it happens.
The point of my post was mainly, how ironic it would be to let dope smokers out of jail to make room for a guy doing hold ups to get money..........to buy weed.

So then I guess we ought to throw any one who ingests nicotine in jail then? Letting someone out of prison who only hurt themselves to make room for someone who violated another person's rights seems very logical to me.

No, throw them in jail if they STEAL niccotine. Big difference. I personally don't care what a person chooses to put in their own body, just don't break laws to do it. If the weed laws are thought to be unfair, then people should rightly fight to have those laws repealed, just as they are doing.

Nothing I've previously posted would suggest throwing anyone in jail for smoking weed or niccotine.

So, would you be in favor of repealing the laws against growing, distributing, possessing and ingesting weed? Or maybe, at least, concentrate our police on arresting people who violate other people's rights instead of harming themselves?
