I have a question for those much smarter then I am.

If a teacher is suspended from their position for  5 days or more.

Do parents have the right to know why said teacher was suspended?

Being the spouse of long-time educator (this WAS NOT my wife that was suspended 😉 ), it's my opinion that parents have a right to know ONLY if it involves conduct towards a student. If the suspension involves actions in the teacher's personal life, OR actions taken towards a superior (situations of insubordination), it's none of the parents / students business at that point. After all, teachers DO have a right to a private life!! And I'm willing to give the administration the benefit of the doubt at this point in believing the suspension DID NOT involve students & therefore keeping it private / undisclosed is kosher!!

Once again, just my opinion!!

A high school teacher was suspended and is under investigation following allegations of inappropriate electronic communication with a student, according to an email sent to Clarksville Community Schools parents and guardians Thursday.

This was also on the news tonight (WDRB) --- said the teacher is not being named pending investigation.

Seems like the school system and police should be allowed to do their job without trying someone in the court of public opinion, in spite of the fact that this has become America's favorite pastime!

That is true Oldgoat we want them to do the job.

The problem is some of those of who you speak

knew of this teachers actions long ago.

I hope they take the time and do a top to bottom

job of investigation.

Out of the mouth of babes..........Sometimes adults need to listen to children.
