A simple dessert is all that is needed ---- cookies perhaps.   No need for cakes, pies, etc.  They have to be cut, put on plates and are messy and more of a problem to carry.    A sloppy joe meal just needs a nice cookie!

I will bring the drinks and snacks.   Donna/Tina  ---- just making sure you saw my post!   I will bring the DRINKS and SNACKS!!

I'll be happy to fill in wherever needed.

I can fill in as well.   We don't have to tell them today, just so long as we tell them by April 27th I'd say they'll have time to plan.

The dinner is coming up, so we might want to figure out the plan... Tina, what is the other team bringing?

So far we have:

Sloppy Joes-RunnerGirl, Snowman and DonnaK

Buns, Chips-Tina

Snacks, Drinks-IM

Deviled Eggs-Ron

Did I overlook anything?

I can do some baked beans too. Depending on scheduling, I may have to drop them off with someone ahead of time.

I am going to bring the snacks/drinks and get them set up -- then let the other group take care of them as I have another meeting to go to.

Donna,

Ron just finished the deviled eggs...somewhere around 140-150. He started out with 80 whole eggs, so there should have been 160 finished eggs, but he lost a few to quality control.

So there is no excuse for you not to grab one or a few deviled eggs for yourself! If you do not try them this month, I will be Grumpy Granny again and do something awful...like...uhhh...I'll...I'll...

I'll ban you from the Chatter for 6 years!

I'm still bringing beans. Will have to drop and run. Supposed to have a closing tomorrow and ducks are not yet quite in their rows.

Donna,

If I was you I would make Ron sleep next door tonight after eating that many eggs!

Well, Bigfoot, I do have to admit to doing some of the quality control myself...

The dinner turned out good.  I think it was the largest crowd so far, but I was too busy to count how many we served.  Everyone enjoyed the sloppy joes, mac and cheese, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, and of course the deviled eggs.  IM's snacks were a hit as usual.  Since there was only four of us who could stay, I greatly appreciated the help from the other team.  Any thoughts about June's menu?

With the number served growing larger, I'd think something simple would be good. Maybe hot dogs? Last time I fixed hot dogs for the dinner, I cooked them in the crock pot, very easy to do, and they were gone before everyone was served...and I'd brought 70! I forget what else we had that time, too long ago.

The dinner went well, I think!  I stepped out of the kitchen and helped on the floor.  There was enough food that after the line had been through once me & the kiddos were able to sit with the crowd and have conversations with them.  (I think I've said before this is my favorite part.  Not for the food, although it is yummy, but because I want to learn more about our guests!)
