How about something easy for this dinner - sloppy joes, chips, and coleslaw????

I will bring the usual snacks and I believe Donna K told Tina she would bring desserts.  Something simple like cookies would be fine with a sloppy joe meal.   I can bring some cookies as well if she needs help.

Sloppy joes, chips, cole slaw and cookies  -- along with the snacks and drinks and of course Ron's deviled eggs should be plenty.   Perhaps if you want the other team to help they could bring buns, cole slaw or drinks.

If we have fruit, usually Kelley and Kelly provide that.    I think we should also keep the meals simple during the summer months as people don't usually want too many hot dishes in hot weather.

I'm not a fan of any meal that starts with the word "sloppy" LOL!  Do baked beans go with this?  Kelly's baked beans were a hit last time.

Just peeped in on Facebook and there were numerous Mac & Cheese recipes . . . does this go with Sloppy Joes?  Seriously, folk, I do not know what goes with this meal!  LOL!

Mac & Cheese goes with everything.  We can add that to the menu.

Since Tina said the other team would do desserts, how about I bring some Sloppy Joes, too. With RunnerGirl, maybe Snowman and me all bringing Joe, there should be plenty to go around even for a big group. Ron will make his deviled eggs. We can bring buns and/or chips if needed, too.

I will leave this to Tina to coordinate.  Our other group could bring Mac & Cheese, cole slaw or fruit cocktail/applesauce.  Let's start posting what we will bring so that Tina knows what we need for the fill-in.  I will fill-in wherever needed.

Who's doing sloppy joes?

Ron's doing deviled eggs (of which, I will steal one!)

DonnaK is doing a batch of sloppy joes.

IM is doing her snacks, and she gets the good stuff!

I don't know how to make coleslaw as I don't care for it.  (Watch - snowman will make it with some AMAZING recipe, and for the first time in my life I will again like something I have *never* liked!)

I can bring buns and chips again.  I brought 96 last time, but I'll grab one extra package so we'll have enough for 120 sandwiches.  4 big bags of chips seemed just right.

Part of the reason I like to have plenty of food is I really miss getting to go through the line and eat with them.  I truly enjoyed the fellowship and getting to know them & their stories.

Tina---coleslaw is easy--you just buy it  at KFC!!    Sloppy Joes, chips, deviled eggs and 1 side --whether it is baked beans, coleslaw or mac&Cheese > When you start having too many sides, you run the chance of running out unless you put only 1 side out at a time.  It is too hard to make enough of 3 or 4 sides for everyone to have some. jmo

Mac & Cheese!

Church ladies can make great Mac & Cheese!

Edit to add:  We had over 70 people last week.  KFC's coleslaw for that number would be a lot of $$$$!!!!
