I got my first kayak a few days ago . the thinking was that I could put it on top of my car and go whenever I wanted to, without having to borrow my husbands truck. Fast forward to today when I tried to put this daggum thing on top of my car - ford fiesta- and dang if it doesn't start bowing the hood of my car. The o my option that I can see around this is to put on a roof rack. At about $350... Its not worth that much to me. Anybody got any suggestions ?

I've seen people use something similar to this... however I have no experience doing it... might talk to the folks at Bass Pro... a lot of their sales peeps are hobbyists and they may have suggestions.

Thule and Yakima make good rack systems, or see if your car can pull a small trailer.

Quasar, that is what I was using today when my roof started buckling. Im afraid its going to damage the seals around my moon roof. I have looked at the Thule type roof racks on amazon and I'm just not willing to put that much money into this. I realize that a rack may be my only option though.
We thought about a little trailer, but I have no metal under my bumper, let alone a hitch. Was going to anchor it down under the sides of the hood. I have seen this done on Pinterest, but you gotta take some of those things with a grain of salt.

Tom, I'm a big girl. An inflatable would fold up on me in the water and I would suffocate, like a giant taco. Lol
