I have been observing and reading about the various reactions to this law and have been really unsure about where I stand on it all. I don't mean this particular law really. At this point, I can't imagine ever being for yet another law. What we need more of now is the repeal of laws, not piling on more of them.


At any rate, I finally read an opinion piece by John Stossell that pretty much laid out the thoughts I have been having about it all and he does it in quite a concise manner:


A Right to Discriminate


In particular there are two points I liked about this column that I had not really encountered anywhere else:


-what he said about religious freedom vs individual freedom


-his consolation that there may have indeed been a necessary exception concerning racism due to the damage done by Jim Crow Laws
