woo, read post #28 and you will find savile row asked about spending money on soccer when a study just released  showed a need for downtown parking.

Do you have a problem reading or do you just read my posts and question what its about?

No, I see you constantly trying to turn every thread into a mayor hate fest.

Didn't even mention his name or his office. Seems to me IT IS YOU that is trying to bring him into every post I make.

Frugal with the taxpayers hard earned money, huh....?

The expose of the $3,000,000

has begun very well.

The total expenditures for the soccer parking expansion plan will be examined.

There is a rumor that the current city council will table the $3,000,000 boondoggle.

That would be unusual ....

The Jeff Youth Football and Basketball programs are needing some new attention......

The outdoor basketball courts are in deplorable condition

all over the city

and are feeling

the need for some love....

There was story at the breakfast hotspots this morning that

since the current Jeffersonville City Council

has sooo much taxpayers money to burn through

for  a soccer parking lot.

what about the pressing and important needs of the efforts to maintain the animal shelter?

No kill?

$3,000,000 more for the shelter would help the shelter

and the no kill efforts as well

was the discussion.

Although,I have not attended the meetings to totally understand the justification for the 3 million expenditure, Those funds cannot be used for the city court.

Wow, that is really a news flash.....

When you get these "hot flash thingies" in the future,

about spending tax money,

please let us know.

Thanks for the update.

Remember to think about the concepts of "frugal spending"

and "specious  justifications"...as well....

Note:

Iisn't Clark County government like really, really, really  broke

and haven't you had to MANDATE millions more taxpayers' dollars

for a number of years to keep the spending levels up ......?

I have not seen you publicly speak against the spending or the mandates.......

Idea for a question:

Kevin, since you are currently in your seventh year in office as a member of the Clark County Council,

and you are

'earnestly

seeking'

a spot on the Jeffersonville City Council,

do you think that the  $3,000,000  of taxpayers' hard earned  money

should go towards a ...soccer parking lot....

Dude, let us know your position!

Are you for

or against

the spending of the extra $3,000,000 on the parking lot.......?

Dude, you seem awfully upset at someone who just posted some relevant information. Is there some specific reason for the hostilities that you'd care to share with the rest of us so we can better understand your true motivations?

Not totally sure if the original plans for the Woerhle Athletic Complex have changed, but the indoor facility was originally planned to be a multisport, multiuse facility (football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, etc). That being said, the current parking situation is not conducive to this expanded use. I will agree that 3 Million seems a little inflated for a parking lot, but the land for the complex was already deeded to city.

Kevin offered an obfuscation.

I like Kevin.

I am just having fun with Kevin

on this excessive spending issue.

He is clearly a concerned and dedicated office holder.

As he is seeking a slot on the city council,

he too should be able to clearly  answer

for the beleaguered taxpayers

a simple question:

Yea or Nay

or the $3,000.000 ?

Also, remember that Kevin Vissing

had the guts to address the city council

and speak against

the boneheaded plan to abolish the city court.

He explained not only the increased difficulty of handling the cases in a Circuit Court,

but that city taxpayers would actually end up paying more on their increased proportion

of the county tax rate than the city court would cost.

Kevin  knows the true information very clearly

as he made the post while we were texting each other.

He is also enjoying  the discussion on the CCC

and he knew the answer

to not being able to use the funds for the court.

He was just having fun.

He will next tell us about the county's funding for the animal shelter!

The 'true motivation' is that the city council made a mistake.

But about the frugal spending issue: Yea or Nay?

Hopefully councilman #2 can explain more in detail about 3 mil expenditure. I have not attended those meetings to know enough about it.

Kevin that is very good!

We know that you are a very honest and dedicated office holder.

You have several times voted against things

that you felt  should not be done,

going against pressure from the politicians

and power brokers.

You serve the public interest.

What is up with the formatting on Saville Row's post? The flow is fragmented. Sentences have random carriage returns to new lines. Very difficult to read. Almost like you are cutting and paste text is what it looks like? What's going on when you post?

The City Court was abolished because the tax payers of Jeffersonville were paying for a county wide court.  The cost of this court should and will be paid for by the county as a whole.   Also Savile Row seems VERY upset about this be I and I think the rest of the council believe he is in the minority.  During the debate of this issue all councilpersons (young & old, Dem and Rep) agreed to close the city court.  I for in my case, after talking to many people within my district I only had 2 people (a past City Court Judge and the current city court Judge) say the court should be maintained.

The fund that is being created for the Parks Department is due to the overwhelming success of the private/public partnership between the Jeff Park's Department with the Clark County Soccer Association (CCSA).  After completing the soccer and football complex usage increased so much that it was determined that we could not complete phase 2 (building of a new all-sports building) with out the acquisition of additional land.  Currently Jeff does not have any inside sports or recreation options for its residents or visitors other than the old Field house which is expensive to maintain and very limited in its use so we believe having a new sports building would be good for our future.

At this point a possible opportunity has arisen where by the Parks Department may be able to purchase an additional 11+acres of land near the current soccer/football complex and this new fund would be used to purchase the land, increase parking, and be the down payments for the construction of a new parks all-sports building.
