NSBHM

I call bs on Mike.  I have a friend who is going to file as a DEM

and he is his own man.  Your type of comments taint the pool for

good Democrats.

It's unfortunate, but if anyone is to blame for tainting the pool for good Democrats, it is the Democrats themselves.

Could be true...

Blame the current office holders if you will.

But to say that Dems you are waiting to run

are waiting to hear from these guys is BS.

That my friend is what I was referring to.

Sleepy, I realize the good honest Dems are not waiting to get their marching orders from the 'gang' or the 'clique' (two different entities, IMO).

But you gotta admit, the bad behaviors of many Dems has indeed sullied the reputations of some good honest Dems.  Kinda like the guilt by association thing.  The good guys have to distinguish themselves from the bad actors, and I hope they do.

But be prepared for some Dem candidates with strong ties to the 'establishment'.  Not good for the party...not good for Clarksville.

JMO, and that's that.

I hope my guyot gal doesn't get accused or lumped in.

I don't know if your guy has strong ties or not.  We can only wait and see.  I have heard a RUMOR that he made a deal to stay out of a previous race in exchange for support in the town council race.  Like I said, it's a RUMOR...got no proof...perhaps you could shed some light on it.

Cut a deal?
Didn't Conn already run last year and was badly defeated?

No, you apparently misunderstood.  I heard that YOUR guy cut a deal, not Conn.  I have avoided using his name because he has not officially declared yet.  But since he is your 'friend', perhaps you could clear it up.  Did he cut a deal, or not?

I'll be on the lookout for a first time female in the Dem primary.  It will be good to see a qualified female run for office.

Now, about the deal that was allegedly cut...what up with that?

The time has come to allow new blood to enter the Clarksville Town Council. For too long we have endured the same old politics with the same old politicians year after year. With residents complaining about sewage rates that haven't been re-looked at to councilmen not going further with district voting because it would affect their personal outcome. This year we have the opportunity to revitalize not only the town but the council as well. Clarksville is on the cusp of a new era and with new energized councilmen we can take Clarksville to greater heights and make Clarksville the town that could be to the town that can be. My name is Daniel Bamforth-R and I am running for Clarksville Town Council, District 5.

I am Marvin Bostock Jr, citizen of the Town of Clarksville son of Marvin Sr (deceased) and Jean Bostock, I'm their boy and noone elses.
"Gang" affiliations? I'm a member of the notorious Bostock gang of Clark and Floyd County Indiana. I have never been beholden to nor "friends" with any gang of 4. I do in fact know Kelly Conn and I guess if you count Facebook you could call us friends, he may be on my friends list?? That and the fact that Kelly was a board member while I served on the police dept is my only affiliation with Mr. Conn.

After hearing that I had been mentioned, I debated whether to make my first (?) post on this site in response, obviously I decided in the affirmative. It seems that every election I receive solicitations from citizens to run for some office which I find very humbling and flattering. My decision has always been family based as the Bostock gang easily comes before politics. Secondly, I've found politics to be very unsavory with rampant speculation about peoples character and affiliations even before asking the person him/herself if they intend to run. This has happened every time my name has been mentioned so I thought I might head that off.

Those who truly know me will tell you that I am my own man. I served the Town with pride for 24 years and was heavily involved with the youth during my entire tenure and miss serving every day. I retired from the Clarksville police as a Captain in 2006 and now work at the airport.

My wife of 35 years, Kim, and I have 2 grown children, Chris and Lindsay, and 3 grandchildren. My brood was raised in Clarksville and graduated from Clarksville High School as did I. I reside at 1004 Mayfair Ave, my phone number is listed, as it always has been, and I am in fact considering running this time. I am a human being and have made more than my share of mistakes and will probably make a couple more in my lifetime. I'd like to think that I'm honest and fair and my integrity definitely matters to me.

I've read on this site at various times throughout the years and respect the concerns of everyone, whatever the topic. I can assure you that if I do in fact find it in the cards to run, I'll take the time to make notification on this site for those who care. At that point I would also invite anyone to call or come to my home if they had any questions or concerns. Regards, Marvin Bostock

Welcome Mr. B  I hope you do choose to run.

Here is the problem I see with all clark county politics.

Everyone runs on the basis of I am my own man/woman.

I owe no one.  Which may be true.

The problem comes from the public and it can come quickly.

The first time you vote with people others don't like you are considered "their buddy" "their guy"

My above post was in jest.  If you know em or ever vote on an issue with em you are one  of them.

I look for the candidates like your self, that owe no favors and vote what they think is best for the people.

All of the pre judging is a joke.  Judge a person on their elected record,  I agree with this,

Here is a thought, what if 7 Republicans are elected?  Will they Become the Gang of 7?

Yes they will...In some peoples eyes for sure.

Take away my soap box Im out.
