Wow, all this retire then rehire under a "new" / redundant position has my head spinning. The school board sounds like an 8 yr old changing the rules mid game when they are losing just so that they can win. And then when no one wants to play with the kid, he whines and cries. They have a lot of redundant positions, that seem to be filled with friends, who I 'm sure are very lovely people. Then they whine and cry when they don't have enough funding for all their wants and "needs". Sorry just too confusing. Starting to sound like the whole board is in need of a major change up.

Sleepy, that is a great idea! I did some asking around and checking on the issue and here is what I found out. Mr. Green did a great deal of work in Scott County working on attendance and drug issues. He did the same when he left Scottsburg to go to NAFCS as assistant principal at Prosser. As was previously stated, he also worked with troubled students here at GCS. He was director of student services at the Indiana Department of Education where he headed up the school safety specialist program and statewide attendance. According to my sources, he was one of the original members of the state committee that actually started the school safety program in Indiana.

Let's see - A lifelong educator with extensive administrative, school safety and attendance experience... That sounds like a very smart idea to have him replace Chris Ralston.

Because more than one person is thanking Mr Watson for his answers but I don't see them?  Am I missing something?

No. You are correct that his responses are missing. I don't find anything removed by the staff. I'll have to dig deeper into this...

Not to rehash an old thread, but with the recent news of Mr Greens new position, I do have ask, what happened to the posts from Mr. Watson. Seems like all of his posts were deleted

mr green will land in wyoming far away the vultures of clark county. he is not returning. the routing system in place prior to ken was nothing even close to the existing one.

Well -- Sleepy was right.   If Green went to Wyoming, he certainly didn't stay more than 30 days!

I posted this on December 4th:

While I always try to stay neutral on issues, this seems like they hired a person who has better knowledge and experience than the previous person, and is a career educator. If we as taxpayers are looking for the best people to staff positions in our schools, then this looks sound.

I can't resist this so I will ask. We have a few members on this forum who think Dr. Daeschner is one of, if not the best superintendent around. Let's pretend there was an opening at the superintendent's position, and the board went out and hired Dr. Daeschner. Would those who look down on this move criticize that move?

I don't think that it's the hire that anyone would question -- just the way that GCCS conducts business anymore !!!!

SLY is correct, no one is saying anything about the hire.  It is the set deal behind closed door

RETIRE REHIRE SWITCHEROOO PART 2 that people do not like.

SLY I believe you can speak to this...The guy who deleted the posts has spent a career screaming

about it isn't fair, wether it be other teachers with more seniority getting perks,  who gets jobs over his family, who

gets to be department heads,     screams no transparency... Its not Fair its not fair,

Now that he is behind the scenes,  behind the curtain he tried to defend what was going on and what everyone

already knew.    Again Mr. Green is a good guy great experience good for the job.

I ask but one question..I know how much Mr. Ralston was making, is Mr. Green making the same ????

Welllll  first off a 210 contract,   we all know what this means.   Now here comes the comments about he will do more blah blah

blah.   If we are changing a job in the system it should be fair for everyone to go after.  This one was a RETIRE  REHIRE SWITCHEROOO

PART 2 from the get go.

Someone said they still had Mr. Watsons posts  good.

And SLY it doesn't take a genius to delete a post.  Push delete.

Sleepy, those are very fair questions, and I have no idea about the answers.

Let's stipulate that the new hire is better compensated than the previous employee. Could consideration be given that the administration deemed that this particular individual is actually better qualified and more experienced than the previous person, thus justifying more compensation?

My experience in business is that these decisions are commonly made when organizations have openings similar to this.

Without transparency, we can all speculate whatever.  Doesn't mean that Green has better credentials than Ralston and it doesn't answer the questions: Was the position posted?  Was the pay posted?  Was anyone else considered for the position?

Too many back room deals and closed meeting determinations made by this board.
