Paul told Donna that the folks get turkey-ed out during November because all the teams want to do a Thanksgiving style dinner. He also said that they rarely get meatloaf. So how about we stray from the norm and put on a meatloaf dinner?

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, some veggies...throw in some brown gravy and dinner rolls. What do you all think of this idea?

I'll do 10 lbs of mashed potatoes! Oh, and the usual lemonade, too!

Can't help but think Paul is right on November being turkey month. I love turkey, but I wouldn't want that every day of the month.

I'll fix some veggies, maybe peas and corn (separate, not cooked together) and get the gravy.

Ron will fix deviled eggs and provide some fruit.

I'll ask Barb and the girls if they would like to fix desserts...

I feel bad that I can't help with the hot food but the snacks do seem to go over well and the kids enjoy passing them out. Maybe someday when I retire!, I will be able to help with the hot stuff! I will also pick up a few bananas as well as they like the bananas!
The kids make up baggies of candy that they pass out individually after everyone has gone through the line. So if anyone has any leftover Halloween candy that you want to get rid of please bring it and give to me and we will use it in the treat bags! Thanks.

Here's the menu so far:

Runnergirl & Hubs - 2 meat loaves

Snowman - meat loaf

Donna & Tina - mashed potatoes

GG - peas, corn and GRAVY (Yum!)

Chris & Katie - dinner rolls

Kelley - green beans

BJ & Girls - dessert

Ron - deviled eggs & fruit (breakfast!)

Donna - Lemonade

IM - bananas, snacks & treats . . . she also has a young crew of Katie, Simon & Mallory put together sweet treat bags, so bring/drop off

your extra Halloween candy

Exit 0 is also collecting coats, gloves, etc. for the cold weather coming.  If you have coats/outerwear that you would like to donate, it can be dropped off at First Presbyterian on Chestnut Street on the second Thursday of the month, (Nov. 13) or pm me for other arrangements.

Duh - Donna I didn't see you were planning to do mashed potatoes!

What else can I help bring?

You could do 5 lbs of taters (I can adjust . . . for veggies ONLY!) or maybe a dessert.

I was just getting ready to say that maybe Tina would want to bring mashed potatoes, too. We had sooo many people last month! The girls are planning to make 3 or 4 cakes, so I'm sure if you wanted to bring a dessert, they wouldn't complain, lol. Actually, anything you want to bring is good...as long as you bring yourself and those cute little helpers. We look forward to them and our other cute helpers, IM's granddaughters.

There it is!  A mashed potato cook off!

I'll bring 7 - 8 lbs (gotta leave a few for the family) of the best, darn, mashed taters anywhere and Tina can place a distant 2nd.
