Good morning everyone. I know it's early, but I thought I'd go ahead and throw this out here. Chris said soups were mentioned at the last dinner. Anything you all decide on is good with me especially since I will probably just be a contributor and not a participant. That daggone vampire is still trying to get me again!

Also, is it too soon to talk about the baggies like we put together last year? Chris, Katie and I were talking about them a few days ago. Do we want to do it again this year?

If there's gonna be chili, I'll make peanut butter sandwiches to go with.

sounds yummy! About how many turn out on average? I might be able to make a desert but will have to drop it off with someone the night before. I made some Apple dumplings that were really good yesterday and would be a perfect fall desert!

I'm guesstimating about 60 - 65 people.  Did a head count last Thursday at the start of the dinner and we had 40 people, but at least 20 more people showed up later in the evening.

A system of counting plates is a norm for keeping track. Doesn't always translate to how many people but how many meals served.

I will see what I can do. Will try to do around 80. That way helpers can have some left overs! I would bring them over after I got off work but it's close to 7:30 when I get home due to the bridge construction now.

I believe about 60 was right. I will bring the usual snacks -- seems like they like to take them with them for later or for breakfast. Whoever made the apple pie last time did a great job -- so Bigfoot the apple dumplings would work well.
Seems like they really like the bananas (more so than the apples) -- so if anyone wants to bring a few bananas it would be great.

And I think it would be great to start putting the bags together for Christmas Granny. Hope you feel better soon. We miss you.

Plus the to-go boxes, I would say 75 to 80.

If I remember correctly when we passed out the bags last year, they really liked the ones that had a pair of warm socks in them. So if you can, add a pair of socks to the bag you prepare.

Was this going to be the dinner where hot chocolate made its triumphant return? I can grab some if so.

And just to jog my memory (I've slept recently), what did we have in the baggies?

If I recall we had personal hygiene items like razors, shaving cream, lotion, lip balm, etc.  AND CANDY!

Have desserts been covered yet, aside from the apple thingys? I think the main course and fruits are covered and I'd like to bring something.

Maybe some cupcakes Chris. They can pick those up easily and no plates needed!

Snowman, do we need someone else bringing chili or maybe another soup?  Cheese, crackers . . . ?
