The first Tumbleweed restaurant? Across the street from New Albany High School in the mid 70's... I used to have lunch there on occasion. I don't recall the price, but do recall that a taco was dirt cheap back then...

I have no idea why this suddenly came to mind... lol

Yuck. It was still there in the 80's, long enough for my mother to meet my first step father. Was the first place I had white chili too though, so there's that.

The Tumbleweed on Slate Run is the one that had the fire.

Tumbleweed was on Slate Run where Mac's Hideaway is now.

It was actually in a different building though wasn't it?

I think you are correct, Quasar. I think it was in the old Lone Star Cafe Building. Same parking lot, different building.

I could easily be wrong here... but I was thinking that Mac's was actually in the old Lone Star building and that the Tumbleweed had a separate building. If you were standing on Slate Run and looking at Mac's, the Tumbleweed would have been just to the left of it and more directly facing Slate Run. LOL... but like I said, I'm not so sure that I would bet the farm on it!

Thanks. This was all before my time (in New Albany, not on earth).
