If anyone happens to have any leftover Halloween candy, it really went over well last time --- or you could put it in the Christmas bags that we are putting together. Also, I still have plates GG Also, my granddaughter Katie wants to come and help this time if ok (she is 10)

Granny, I will make a new dessert I found on my country cooking web-site. Put me down for two, plus I will go buy those good cookies from Sams or Kroger.

I can be there by 5:00. I'll bring fruit again. Lots of bananas, less apples. Way less apples. lol! Also, if we need more plates or other paper goods I can pick those up too. Do we need butter for the rolls?

Can we get chicken from Paul by Monday afternoon? Need time to thaw and then cook. Can use broth from boiling the chicken for noodles.

I will bring a couple of bags of egg noodles. Should I plan to cook them in advance or there at the church?

I can be there at 5:10 or so. If cooking the noodles in advance, I can bring them earlier but can't stay til I can pass the kids off to the husband. :)

i can bring some bags of noodles also, and if the thawed chicken was at the church at 4:00 i could cook that, then we could add the noodles to the broth and add the chicken meat to it all... unless Donna cooks it all ahead of time which would work also.

Donna, I just spoke w/Paul. I will be picking up the case of chicken this afternoon. I will throw it in our freezer for the weekend, and we'll figure out how we're going to thaw a huge block of chicken! Won't know for sure until I see the size of it, but I doubt the whole thing would fit in my fridge for defrosting. I got silly and bought a fancy french door/bottom freezer fridge (expensive!) and now know it won't hold as much as a plain ole 2 door fridge. Shouldn't need another fridge for years, but I will know better next time, lol.

Tina, I think it will be better to cook the noodles at the church, don't you? As Donna said, we can keep the broth after boiling the chicken, bring it to the church to cook the noodles in. Won't have to worry about them getting overdone if we have to reheat them...

Snowman, I think it might be better to boil the chicken in advance, give it some time to cool before we have to remove the chicken from the bone. We can do the bone removal at the church and add the chicken to the noodles there. I know I can cook some (or all, if I need to) of the chicken, that day.

I also have a large pot I will bring along in case we need it to cook the noodles in.

GG == Congrats on the new fridge! However, I agree with you about the French door kind --- my daughter-in-law had one and I hated it every time I went to their house. Not only does it not hold as much, but you have to bend over all the time to get something out of the freezer part -- not good for an "old lady"!! ha I will keep my side by side!!

Sorry I haven't committed. Struggling this week and just don't know. I'll be there if I can, and if I bring anything it won't require prep.

GG -- we couldn't do it without you! You work so hard and do so much. I think all those who attended last night were thankful for all they received. And those of who worked got the most in my opinion --- it is a blessing to be able to help others less fortunate. The young people last night (my granddaughter, Linda's daugher, backinthegame's son, etc) worked hard and did a great job!! Katie asked if we were doing it next week!! ha Have to love the eagerness of the young!
