How about some carrots and celery sticks or maybe some fruit? If it sounds good I will supply that. Otherwise, if we have everything we need already, I'll make a cash donation.

I will be there around 5:00.

CW, the fruit was a big hit last time; that's something the folks can take with them for a snack later, like the snacks IM brings, and they seem to love that. If you let us know how much you think you will bring, others may want to bring some, too, or I can get more with the cash donations left over from last month.

Things are super iffy right now. I'll grab some carry-out ready fruit such as apples, oranges, bananas and/or pears, too, if it's a go.

I don't have to volunteer at church now on this night. I would love to come and help so would my husband and son. What can we bring?

Definitely yourselves! Beyond that, this is where I admit I'm not good at planning menus, and not very imaginative when it comes to food! Any suggestions anyone?

I'm not sure if you want to cook, or bring something already prepared. Overit is bringing apple crisp for 30 for dessert. I was planning on putting my granddaughters to work on cakes for 40-45, but if you would like to bring a dessert, the girls can share the remaining dessert needed with you...

Or if you can think of anything you'd rather bring, that's cool, too!

We'll be happy to have you three join us!

It looks as though there will be an extra person with me from now on. My friend is an 18 year old senior that is in need of a home and a lot of guidance. I have tried to push it out of my mind because I am just not sure that I have the strength left to give her what she needs. She is gay.... is in some legal trouble....and needs a place to live. Her mother moved to Florida about a year ago but wouldn't let her go with her because boyfriend didn't want the responsibility.....she mostly stays with her dad, but it is a very bad situation there. I worked at school today and her circumstances have become desperate... soooooooooo she will be moving in with me on Friday. I am a 59 year old widow for the SECOND time.....I swore I would not let myself become emotionally tied to ANYONE that is not already a part of my family but it looks like her needs have trumped my own need to sit and stare at my walls....wallowing in grief. LOL I was sure hoping someone else would step in but since they haven't... I found it too difficult to sit in my warm house with a full tummy wondering where she was and if she had eaten. I admire this kid so much! She hasn't let life break her......yet. Keep me in your prayers guys...I will need them..I think my retirement is over for awhile LOL

Overit, That is such a nice thing for you to do for this young lady!!! My prayers will be with both of you that you bless each other during your time in the same home!! I hope she can get on her feet soon and then pass the favor on to someone else down on their luck for what you did for her!

I just realized I have a conflict. My son is the ring bearer in one of my best friends wedding on the 15th and the rehearsal is of course on the 14th. I will have to drop off my soup and leave. :( hope that will be ok?

Kelley will you be there so I can get my pot from you?

Tina, we'll miss you, but totally understand! Will you need to drop off your soup earlier than 5 to give yourself time to get to the rehearsal? I can be there earlier if you do need to drop it off earlier.

Hi everyone,

I finally made it to First Presbyterian this afternoon. Set up is similar to St Luke's. The kitchen does have a range/oven we can use, and it does have a serving window, but no steam table. We can use their utensils if we need to. Desserts/snacks will be set up in the dining area like at St Luke's.

We will need to set up/take down the tables and chairs ourselves, and of course wash any of their things we use and wipe down when we're done.

We will use a side door opening onto the parking lot. Paul's Exit 0 truck will be parked by it. It opens into the kitchen. Those dining with us will use the doors facing Chestnut Street to reach the dining room. I failed to ask Paul if the side door would be kept locked, and I did not see a buzzer, so if it's locked, please knock or call me and we will let you in.

Looking forward to next week!
