Firedog,

I assure you that no family member of mine will work for the county. I am in no way involved in the hiring process for the telecommunications specialist position.

The job vacancy announcement should be in the Evening News starting tomorrow. The job is much more than the mailroom duties. The position handles all billing and contracts from communications service providers.

Once again I will never hire a family member to work for the county.

If you like keep this thread open and I will answer any questions.

It's very refreshing to get direct and clear answers to questions from an office holder.

HT,

After taking the bridge decking off the highway crew took a survey of the bridge abutment. The survey showed that the abutment was not as wide as called for in the plans. We had the design firm redesign the mud wall to recut the wing walls for the correct length for the new deck beams.

The only addition cost will be for sawing the winged the wing walls, approximately $2500. This will be passed on to design company.

Construction will resume Monday morning and will still finish on time.

Thanks for the inquiry.

Rick

Rick--

Thank you for being so upfront and honest. I believe your one of the few politicians that will answer the publics questions directly or at all.
And I commend you for participating on the chatter!

Hi Rick,

Any way you can help get the Clark County sheriffs radio and/or cell phone service that works throughout the county?

It concerns me when deputy's tell me they have no communications in my neck of the woods.

Rick are you aware that the Town of Utica is going door to door trying to get homeowners to become annexed into the town. Is the county aware that this is happening? Also are you aware that the Old Utica School in being leased for a 1.00 a year and the taxpayers are paying the insurance on it. Sorry I know the questions are tough.

I did know about the school and the issues associated with it. I had not heard about them going door to door about being annexed. I will investigate it in the morning.

Don't apologize for tough questions. I work for you and I will get the answers.

Rick, not related to any of the previous questions but since the new county website went online you can click on the commisionors meeting minutes but never get them to open up. Not sure if it is just me or if there is a glitch with the system still. I have tried 2-3 times.Thought I would share , I always like to follow meeting discussions.

Encore,

We are working on getting the minutes and ordances to come back up. We also have the claims to get working. It will be working by the end of the week.

The site is a work in progress. Anything you dont see that might be beneficial to have on the site let me know. It is the residents of Clark Co site and any information the residents need to know will be on it.

Rick,

I would like to personally give you a huge Kudo's from me and I'm sure may others feel the same way. It's extremely rare for a elected offical to be willing to answer the voter's questions after being elected. I can honestly say if you run again you will have my vote just for being so open.

In the upcoming elections over the next few years I hope we can get more folks in office that feel the way you do and are here to serve the people and not themselves! Keep up the great work!
