Saw this in the CJ electronic version today...

I can't tell you how many Friday nights I listened to Charlie and Ted call Jeff High ball games. It isn't often that a local community gets the use of a top quality radio voice to enjoy for over 40 years. I know Charlie and I can't think of a finer person in this community. Here's hoping he has a long and happy retirement!

I was a disc jockey at WXVW for about 6 years in the 1980's. I had the privilege of running the boards at the studio for probably several hundred of Charlie and Ted's broadcasts. It was great having a station that was so involved in southern Indiana news and sports.

Charlie was great. He made even Ted seem like he knew what he was talking about sometimes!

What a great man and ambassador for sports. Charlie and Teddy had a knack for helping listeners enjoy a game as though they were there. I remember going to games and seeing people sitting in the stands watching the game with their earphone plugged into a transistor radio listening to WXVW, Charlie and Teddy.

Happy retirement to the voice of Southern Indiana sports!
