I don't live on Tunnel Mill but driving the road I was astounded by the amount of trash and litter beside the road just on the outskirts of town. What an embarrassment to have to look at that everyday if you live on that road.

Do what I do, walk up and down my road and pick up the litter. I usually do it on garbage day. I don't do my whole road, but I do both sides past my home in both directions. At least the road is neat around my house. You are right though, there is lots of trash from Monroe on out. I noticed this on a recent motorcycle ride.

I do drive Tunnel Mill everyday, and I swear I share the road with slobs. What the heck is wrong with you trash chuckers that you can't keep it in your car until your home or somewhere that has a trash can?? Have some pride in your community.

Same thing happens on Hale Rd in Clarksville. There is a vacant lot with overgrown trees. Apparently some trashy people think that trees=trashcan.

The same thing happens on Salem Noble. Trash everywhere.

I would say if it looked better on Sunday the grass is covering it. Have no idea why this area gets so littered--it has for yrs. It is a really nice area but the sides of the road really catch the litter. Walking the road is out--to dangerous unless the road is blocked off. Very narrow.

I live on Tunnel Mill and if anyone wants to create a Facebook group and have a monthly clean up day, I would totally volunteer for it.

If not you, then who?

If you wait for others to lead, you may be waiting a long time.

Don't think that people won't follow you. They will. Start a facebook page, go to the Sign Guy and get a simple sign or two that says "first Xday of the month at 10am, come help our "neighborhood clean up" day" Bring a dozen doughnuts or two for the sweet people who step up and it'll grow from there.
