5).  No occupancy permit in place... why are people living there?

Clark County does not have occupancy permits, according to their website.

That permit is apart of any reconstruction or new structure. This is a state requirement and all of Indiana has to follow the state guidelines. Every county, city or town can make their rules stricter
on their building requirements but they have to be as strict as the state. So as for the walking to the port from Utica that would be a full time job just getting their and back on foot. Just guessing
but even when the new road is open so they could walk that way it has to be over 4 miles up and down hills one way. So are they going to walk to work I don't think so. Not because someone couldn't
but because this would be an added hardship on the women that are all ready under a hardship. As for this mission it is not about the real mission for Jacobs Well either for if it was they would have set up the
training center 1st but NO they built them selves an 1586 sqft 1 bedroom apartment 1st. That is bigger then most 3 bedroom houses and this only cost them $1 a year and everything else is paid for by donations.
So tell us again that this is for the women. 2 years later and still enjoying the small modest 1586 sqft apartment. Just check your own sqft of the house you live in and tell us this is small and that the women came 1st.
Just think of how many dorms could have been made out of that area? They had their own house so it was not like they needed a place to stay. Just saying the mission was NOT 1st with them.

So I see that round 2 has started. My question is why the people that donate money to a mission are not asking why after 2 years they have not at least open the training center?
I hear thing are getting more intense between the people of the community and their elected board. Well good luck with that issue from what I hear the people will really need it because
the board has their own set of rules and it is not what the people want at all. Its a shame election is not this year so the people could vote them few out that are now voting for the people.
This is Clark County at its best just when people think it is getting better in Clark County something like this happens to remind people of how corrupt it can be. Glad I moved away but I still
have family in Clark County and feel for them.

YES this is true. A person went on private property and stole an (Save Our School) yard sign. They told the police they stole the sign and
threw it away. They told the police something about a hate crime but not sure what they meant by this. The sign was stole out of a person yard
that we all know has not or would not have any part of any thing to do with hate crimes. The person has been helping to fight for the Old Utica
School by doing research for the people in the community to help prove all the legal laws that have not been applied by the group that is in the
Old Utica School. Just because she has found several laws not being followed is NO reason for them (supporters or members) of the group for
Jacobs Well to to make her a target of theft. The person who did the stealing was this sending a message to her that maybe she isn't safe?
If they steal from her what will they do next?

Ridiculous that one person allegedly does something and now it's everyone that supports them.

Leave it to an "alleged" Christian organization to be affiliated with an "alleged" criminal, caught in the "alleged" act of stealing.... when they have (already) "allegedly" been caught lying....the only folks that are shocked are the ones drinking the koolaid.

Jacobs Well is having a Car Show in Utica at the School and calling it UTICA CRUSIN and no one in the Town of Utica is supporting them. Whats wrong with that picture. The fight is still going.  Also heard that some of their Board of Directors have resigned. OS Preservation mailed out over 500 letters to all of the area churches and businesses to give them their side and how after 2 years and having spent over 350,000 dollars they have not helped anyone yet. They do have a very large apartment built inside the school for their personal use.

They don't even have Jacob's Well any where at all on the sign. They put Old Utica School on the sign which makes people think it is being held by the Old Utica School Preservation which it IS NOT. Shame on them for leading people to think it has nothing to do with them. But we should be used to this from them after all it's been 2 years and the training center is still NOT open to help anyone but I hear they have a 1586 square foot apartment there for them selves to live in for free. Those poor women and children they claim to help has been waiting now for over 2 years. I hope someone steps up to the plate and help them somewhere because it will not happen there as we already see whom they have helped.

I heard they had a Car Show (Jacobs Well) yesterday and they had more Clark County Police Cars there than Ole Cars. I guess Utica has a bad name still. The Utica Life site on Facebook said no one from Utica showed up only JW supporters. Doesn't look like they have a lot of community support. Its been 3 years and still haven't helped that first battered women but I understand they have a nice apartment and pay only (1)dollar a year. I understand they are still in a Lawsuit with JW.

Checked the mycase.in.gov web site and it shows there is a hearing date in court for June 24, 2013 for a decision. Wonder if the Judge will still want to dismiss
this case? I hear the Old Utica School Preservation feels he will and they can't wait for it so they can get the appeal going in Indianapolis where there is a better chance
to have the case heard based on the law. It is not rocket science when a deed restriction clearly states for parks and recreational uses only. It's a fact they broke the law
the problem from what I hear is who has the right to enforce this law. Funny I always though if a law was broken that any court had the power to enforce a law made by the state of Indiana.
