According to the C-J, the victim's name has not been released. He is recovering from surgery for three bullet wounds and doctors told officers that he appeared to have a good prognosis. Prayers are going out to him.

Seem like the Evening News let this one get past them, at least on their website.

Hubs stopped in tonight . . . he's still not sure who we are praying for. As it is family owned & operated, one of their own was shot, but, prayerfully, hopefully, he is on the mend. PLEASE, if you know anything, call the Jeff Police at 283-6633.

I question the posting of her name and where she lives-doesn't seem like such a smart thing to do considering the suspect is still out there.

Never felt comfortable with anything but a pistol, more control over it, especially like my hammerless, titanium, 9mm....lightweight and small.

WDRB said the suspect was fully covered so they can't tell the race right now but said they were about 6' tall. They called the guy shot Patel and said he is in serious condition. My prayers go out to him and his family. I hope he can make a full recovery.

'Patel' is a very commonly used name from certain countries. It only means 'innkeeper'. Do not believe it is even a family name such as Smith or Jones. Ran into it hundreds of times over the years when taking applications for new service at the phone company.

Don't know about applications at the phone company, but DO hear tell of Red Carpet. Industrious, hard-working family, trying to make their way in a new country. And, NOBODY should have to herald in the new year recovering from violence! All I got is, "Best wishes to Patel, his family and friends." My family and I wish you a MUCH better new year!

I had a Glock for a few years. It was a good gun. Now I am no gun enthusiast like you so I am not going to say I have fired a ton of firearms but I did like the Glock.
