Some questions:

Have all of the various

government units in Clark County,

the cities and towns and the county,

paid up 100% for:

2014?

2015?

It would be very nice

to see ALL of them help support

the needy dogs and cats with their full fair share.

Promptness would be expected as well.

Could they

also get their 2016 assessment checks

to the shelter by say....  January 15, 2016?

Paying the arrears AND the current tab would be appreciated!

  :emoticon-looney-toons-019:

Breakfast Club Furry Friends Concerns

It is now into January of 2016.

Who is on the delinquent political list?

Who has paid up to The Animal Shelter?

2014.

2015.

2016.

It is very cold outside

and the dogs and cats are in need

of the Fair Share to be paid by the elected officials

of the various governmental entities to help the furry friends!

Don't know about all the others but last week the Utica town board told us that they are behind $4,000 and they don't have the funds. This is not on their priority list and for residents to call the town law enforcement. So I suppose they have the funds to waste on calls made needlessly to their police? So...no service for Utica and hasn't been for quite sometime. Unfortunately, this is a 'hot spot' for the rest of Clark Cty to dump their animals. Many strays..no interest in spay and neuter programs will fight like heck to keep a local church from occupying an old school bldg but living animals? Forget about it.

As a former resident of Utica that STILL considers it home, I resent your intimation that the people of Utica don't care about animals.  First of all, the people making the decision are the Town Council Members, most of whom supported the use of the school, which by the way, is NOT being used for a church but rather living space for a director, his family and a very small number of women in transition.  The people in Utica have a very big heart, demonstrated MANY times in the past. Don't blame the "Save our school" folks for decisions made by  the Council.

Breakfast Club Dog and Cat Safety Watch

A discussion came up

at the BC about the Indianapolis

domestic animal protection CITY Ordinance

that allegedly requires persons to protect their domestic

dogs and cats from extreme weather. ONE PART  of the ordinance

apparently requires those responsible for certain domestic animals

to bring them into a heated/protective area if the outside

temperature drops below 20 degrees.

There is a discussion that the City of Jeffersonville

may be adopting a similar ordinance, possibly as early

as  the 7 PM February 1 meeting.

The County of Clark

via the COUNTY COUNCIL

and the county commissioners

would subsequently be under the same

scrutiny and would be expected to follow suit

and provide the support for enforcement of any new county

ordinance for might need to be created by the commissioners

and supported/funded by the county council.

Breakfast Club
Animal welfare ordinance on Jeffersonville City Council agenda

Shelter director to request update at Monday meeting
By ELIZABETH BEILMAN
JEFFERSONVILLE — J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter Director Sarah Green

will ask the Jeffersonville City Council to update its animal treatment ordinance,

hoping to improve welfare in the city for pets.

"We're a pretty progressive town

and we're moving in the right direction,

and this is just another way we can do that," Green said.

She's proposing a slew of amendments, many already implemented by other municipalities across the country, she said.

Done, done and done! Sarah Green works with the Indiana Dept of Corrections, women's facility in Madison, IN. They have a dog training program for inmates and we love when our dogs go to prison!

Sarah has a great relationship with WHAS 11, Angie Fenton and Great Day LIve. You can see her and her shelter dogs as a regular TV guest.

Please everyone support Sarah and the great things she is doing with the animals in Clark County!
