Events for December 22, 2012

Blue Christmas service Saturday, Dec. 22 at 5 pm at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Chestnut and Walnut in downtown Jeffersonville.

This is a service for those who may be struggling for various reasons during the holidays. As it was described in my church bulletin: "In spite of all people urging us to be merry, some people find the holidays a difficult and painful season. If you are struggling with sadness, grief or worry during the holidays, this is the service for you."

I attended this service a few years ago (it was at Wall St. UMC that year) when we lost my husband's mother just before Christmas, and it was a comfort. This is among several events during the year on which Jeffersoville's downtown churches work together.
