Franklin Commons Neighborhood Association will hold their annual Christmas Party at St. Luke's UCC on the corner of Maple and Walnut in downtown Jeffersonville on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 2pm til 5 pm. All neighbors and friends are invited.
Dinner will be potluck. The association will provide meat, bread, drinks and paper products and asks guest to bring their favorite side, finger food, salad or dessert. We also recommend bringing a food item or cash donation to the Center for Lay Ministries.
Franklin Commons Neighborhood is located in downtown Jeff and is bordered by Wall St., 7th St., Fulton St. and Market. We have a lot to celebrate this year as we had winning floats in both the Fourth of July and Christmas parades, won the competitive neighborhood food drive and has spent the last week watching our new neighbors - the pill clinic located on Maple St. - move out following lots of hard work by our neighbors.

No Life Forgotten
Sunday, Dec. 16 at 4 pm. 300 block of Spring St. in downtown Jeffersonville.
This is a program started by the downtown clergy a few years ago following a murder in our community and has been repeated for subsequent murders. Church and community members gather near the site of the event for a service with a goal of healing.
As it's described in my church's bulletin, "There has been another murder in our community. Please join friends and neighbors for a brief service of prayer to mark the stabbing death of Robert Eader."
